Darwin Week Celebrations at UMass Dartmouth
Various events open to the Campus will take place during Darwin Week (February 11-15 and 20) to celebrate the "reality and coolness of evolution" (as put it by the students), including: Competition: Epic Reading of Darwin's On the Origin of Species (1859) and other books, as follows:
Fossils and Skulls Exhibit: Monday, Feb 11 and Wednesday Feb 13, from 12-2pm in the Campus Center Lobby. An amazing collection of fossils and skulls to learn about, touch (...gently) and admire. Excerpts from the Kitzmiller v. Dover trial: Wednesday, Feb 20 in the Library Grand Reading Room. The triumph of evolution over Intelligent Design, with co-sponsors and participation of BioHonors, Biology Student Association and UMassD Honors Student Association. |
