| Description: |
Millennials are the group of students born after 1980 an who entered college after 2000. They came of age during a time of rapid technological innovation and do not remember a time before the internet or personal computers. Millennials take personal electronic devices such as cell phones, iPods and laptops, as well as modes of communication like texting and social networking to be natural extensions of their environments. Teaching millennials requires that we reexamine our methods of communicating with them and assessing their learning inside and outside the classroom. Join Annica Cox (English), Tara Lyons (English), and Kristen McHenry (WGS) as they share some of their insights and strategies for working with students in the new millennium.
Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP to Sandy at sviveiros@umassd.edu or 9182 by 3/1 to reserve your lunch. |
