| Description: | One of Brazil's great pianists, Maria Jose Carrasqueira, will be joined on stage by local flutist, Wendy Rolfe, at the Recital Hall of the College of Visual and Performing Arts at 8PM on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at UMass Dartmouth (parking lots 7 and 8). The concert, "Images of Brazil," will include a lively look at Brazilian music with informative commentary on the history of both the piano and the flute in Brazil. The performers will also share insights into the evolution of Brazil's unique forms, harmonies and rhythms. They will speak briefly about music education in Brazil and innovative music programs which reach out to children from impoverished backgrounds. | |
