The CVPA Campus Gallery at UMass Dartmouth continues its 2008-2009 exhibition season with "African Women in Pictures," featuring the evocative, richly hued digital photo prints of Dr. Alfred Olusegun Fayemi. From the artist: "The essence of my photographs articulates the realities of contemporary Africa and Africans as they traverse a wide spectrum in the rhythm of their daily lives. While many of the images are universal, others are distinctively and uniquely African in content and flavor, revealing timeless narratives of how Africans live and the nuances that shape those lives." "African Women in Pictures" will be on view from February 26 through March 12, 2009, in the CVPA Campus Gallery on the main campus of UMass Dartmouth. There will be an artist's reception on Thursday, February 26, from 4-6pm. Regular gallery hours are Monday-Saturday from 10am-5pm, or by appointment. The exhibition and reception are free of charge and open to the public. |
