Description: Lauren Zuniga, one of the top-ranked slam poets in the world, will be performing at UMass-Dartmouth this fall as we all raise our voices this Election season! Lauren is an artist and activist from Oklahoma, where she uses her work to rally communities to political action and social transformation. In the spring, she served as the Activist in Residence at the University of Oklahoma and released her second collection of poems, "The Smell of Good Mud."

UMass-Dartmouth students registered to vote in record numbers this year and now Lauren Zuniga will be show all of us what it means to raise your voice on the most important issues we face as students and citizens. With the support of the Center for Women, Gender, and Sexuality, MassPIRG, the Black Student Union, the United Latino Society, and the Get Out the Vote Coalition, she will be offering a workshop on writing and activism followed by a performance of her work.
