TITLE: "Addressing Neglected Tropical Diseases By Repurposing Kinase Medicinal Chemistry"
ABSTRACT: Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) are infectious diseases that primarily affect over a billion of the poorest people on the planet. Safe and effective drugs for many of these diseases are sorely lacking, primarily due to the lack of financial incentive for drug companies to perform costly development research for them. This talk will describe our streamlined method for drug discovery, wherein we apply compounds and knowledge from historical kinase inhibitor drug discovery programs to launch new drug discovery programs for NTDs such as African sleeping sickness, leishmaniasis, and Chagas disease. |
