Spanish Film Showing of: "De Nadie" (Border Crossing)
The Department of Foreign Literature and Languages announces the screening of the film "De Nadie" (Border Crossing), Mexico, 2005. Director Tin Dirdamal's powerful documentary, an award winner at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival, accompanies several Central American immigrants --armed with nothing but hope and the dream of a better life--on their 1,300-mile trek through Mexico to the United States. This intimate look at immigration lets politics take a backseat to the resonant narratives of those struggling to survive a journey marked by hardship and hypocrisy. The film is in Spanish with English subtitles. Date: Wednesday, November 7, 2012 Time: 4-6pm Location: AUD-006 More info: Dr. Andres Xavier Echarri Mendoza, 508-999-8258, xavier.echarri@umassd.edu |
