| Description: |
Step UP! will be hosting a screening of Speak in the Center for Women, Gender & Sexuality.
Speak: A film about rape trauma. The film features Kristen Stewart as Melinda, who enters high school a selective mute. Struggling with school, friends, and family, she tells the dark tale of her experiences, and why she has chosen not to speak. Step UP! is a prosocial behavior and bystander intervention program that educates students to be proactive in helping others. Teaching people about the determinants of prosocial behavior makes them more aware of why they sometimes don’t help. As a result they are more likely to help in the future. |
