Description: This conference is designed to help participants:
  • Become familiar with components of the Critical Thinking and Writing VALUE rubrics
  • Assess authentic student work using these rubrics
  • Examine and discuss the impact assignments can have on student results
  • Learn how faculty are using these rubrics in their classrooms
The morning sessions are devoted to scoring authentic student work using these two rubrics and examining the role assignments play in this assessment process. The afternoon session will feature a panel of faculty who will share their campus-based experiences using the rubrics and respond to questions from the audience.

Our hosts at UMass Boston have suggested that campus teams carpool and use public transportation as much as is possible. If you must drive, please arrive early as parking on campus is very limited. Check-in begins at 8am and a light breakfast and lunch will be available.

Contact George Kohout, AMCOA Project Administrator, at 617-994-6946 or gkohout@bhe.mass.edu if you experience any difficulty with the online registration.
