Graduate students face unique challenges and barriers to success. They must develop skills that will not only get them through graduate school, but will also help them succeed in their post-graduate professional careers. These include discipline, flexibility, patience, the ability to move past rejection, networking and socializing effectively, and stress management. This lightning session is a chance for faculty to share strategies on helping students develop these skills. Join presenters John Buck (Electrical & Computer Engineering), Vijay Chalivendra (Mechanical Engineering), Cathy Smilan (Art Education), and Gláucia Silva (Portuguese) as they discuss the approaches in their respective programs.
