UMass Dartmouth Commencement 2004

Rain Plan for Commencement 2004

You will be notified via the UMD website and Marquee at the front gate to the campus by 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 23, 2004 if the rain plan is in effect. In that case, the ceremony will be held in the Tripp Athletic Center. Graduates will receive one blue ticket for admission to the Tripp Athletic Center and one yellow ticket for admission to the Auditorium where the ceremony will be telecast. Other areas of campus will be available to view the telecast ceremony and will be identified with the "in case of rain" announcement.

Graduates

Graduates will enter the Tripp Athletic Complex through different doors, depending on their individual colleges. Once inside please go the clearly marked tables to receive your graduation cards and to be lined up for the ceremony.

  • Graduate School - Enter through any Fitness Center Entrance door.
  • College of Engineering - Enter through any Fitness Center Entrance door.
  • College of Nursing - Enter through any Fitness Center Entrance door.
  • College of Visual & Performing Arts - Enter through any Fitness Center Entrance door.
  • College of Arts & Sciences - Enter through Main Lobby Doors via ramps.

Guests

Guests must have the tickets that were provided in the commencement packet to enter the Tripp Athletic Complex. Guests will enter through the Ground Floor Doors at the rear of the gym through the canopy tents. If there are any guests with special needs, please have them check-in with the officers at the front gate of the campus for instructions.

All guests that cannot attend the ceremony in the Athletic Complex will be invited to view the proceedings in the Campus Center, Auditorium, and Library Ground Floor. The proceedings will be broadcast live to those locations.

Parking

In the event of rain, it is best to park in the following lots:

  • Athletic Center: Lots 9, 10 and 12
  • Campus Center and Auditorium: Lots 4 through 8
  • Library: Lot 13

The police and parking directors have authority, in all cases: do not attempt to park where you are not directed to.
