CVPA professor named Art Educator of the Year

Dr. Arlene Mollo, professor and chairperson of the UMass Dartmouth Art Education Department, was recognized for her work in the field of Art Education in Massachusetts and has been selected to receive the award for Higher Education Art Educator of the Year for 2007.

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA -- The Massachusetts Art Educators Association (MAEA) has announced that Dr. Arlene Mollo, professor and chairperson of the UMass Dartmouth Art Education Department, was recognized for her work in the field of Art Education in Massachusetts and has been selected to receive the award for Higher Education Art Educator of the Year for 2007.

The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to
art education in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  The Massachusetts Higher Education Art Educator of the Year represents the best of art education in our state.

Professor Mollo was honored at the MAEA Spring Conference held at the Worcester Art Museum, Worcester, Massachusetts, on Friday May 11, 2007.   Professor R. Barry Shauck, President-Elect of the National Art Education Association and faculty member of Boston University was the keynote speaker at this event.
