Theatre Company opens season with "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown"

To be presented in its award-winning 1999 Broadway revival version

Happiness is two kinds of ice cream, sharing a secret...or reliving the sweet innocence of youth with Charlie Brown and Snoopy. The UMass Dartmouth Theatre Company will open their 2007-2008 season with the celebrated characters of Charles Schultz's comic strip as they present the classic musical "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" in four fantastic performances, December 6-8.

Presented in its award-winning 1999 Broadway revival version, the musical snapshots Schultz at his best: Schroeder and Lucy at the piano, Charlie Brown and Lucy at the psychiatry booth, Linus with his blanket, Snoopy with his supper dish, and the whole gang at the baseball game. Hilarious comic sequences are animated by high-energy song-and-dance routines, creating non-stop entertainment for adults and children alike.

"You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" stars Brent Borges as Charlie Brown, with Courtney Bradley (Lucy), Micah Williams (Schroeder), Nathan Yetton (Linus), Rachael Starbard (Sally Brown), and Christopher Cartier (Snoopy). The cast is rounded out with an ensemble of singers and dancers, including Matthew Bernardo as Woodstock. The production is  directed and choreographed by Terry Berliner, with music direction by Tobias Monte.

"You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" will be performed at 7pm on December 6 and 7; and at 2pm and 7pm on December 8, on the Angus Bailey, Jr. Stage at the UMass Dartmouth Main Auditorium, 285 Old Westport Road, North Dartmouth. Patrons are advised to park in lot 4. The theatre is handicapped accessible--please call (508) 999-8167 for assistance.

Single tickets for "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" are $12 for the general public; $10 for senior citizens, students, faculty & staff; and $4 for UMass Dartmouth students with valid ID.
