Warren Eisenberg, founder/co-chairman/director of Bed Bath & Beyond to address MBA students, faculty and the university at large at 5:30 p.m., Feb. 13

Dr. Eileen Peacock, Dean of the Charlton College of Business and Mr. Hershel Alpert, Charlton College of Business Executive-in-Residence announce the first Executive-on-Campus Presentation for 2008. The college will host Mr. Warren Eisenberg, Founder/Co-Chairman/Director of Bed Bath & Beyond, a major retailer with more than 800 stores located on the east coast and Puerto Rico. Mr. Eisenberg will address MBA students, faculty and the university at large on February 13 at 5:30 p.m. in the Library Browsing Area.

Warren Eisenberg, a New Bedford native, is a Co-Founder of Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. and has served as Co-Chairman since 1999. He has served as a director since 1971. Mr. Eisenberg served as Chairman from 1992 to 1999, and served as Co-Chief Executive Officer from 1971 to April 2003.

Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. operates a chain of retail stores under the names, Bed Bath & Beyond, Christmas Tree Shops, Harmon and buybuy BABY. The company sells an assortment of merchandise, which principally include domestics merchandise and home furnishings, as well as food, giftware, health and beauty care items, and infant and toddler merchandise.

Dr. Eileen Peacock states: "This will be a wonderful opportunity for our MBA students to learn from a very successful entrepreneur." She continues: "How often do business students get the chance to visit with a giant from the retail sector? Students and faculty will have the opportunity to ask questions about a living case study--the successes of Bed, Bath, and Beyond."

The Charlton College of Business Executive-on-campus program is an opportunity for business and nonprofit leaders to share their knowledge and experiences with students and faculty.  CCB identifies top executives in the region who are running successful organizations and invite them to spend a day on campus.  Presentations focus on business trends and specific strategic issues related to the field of business. These guest executives make a valuable contribution by sharing their time and expertise with the Charlton College of Business community.

In November of 2007, the Charlton College of Business hosted Mr. Henry Wainer, President of Sid Wainer & Son Specialty Produce and Specialty Foods and in 2006, the college was host to Mary Lynn Lenz, President and CEO, Slade's Ferry Bancorp  and Pedro J. Belo, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of bcpbank.  Dr. Peacock adds: "Our Executive on Campus program has been very successful. The program is currently administered by Hershel Alpert, who serves as the college s Executive-in-Residence.  We are fortunate that Hershel has been able to draw upon his many contacts in the corporate world, thereby continuing our practice of bringing successful and well known business people into our classrooms."
