ACTORS NEEDED
PLAYWRIGHTS WANTED

Dartmouth, MA--The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth will host its 3rd annual playwriting festival "inTENsive Theatre" on Saturday, February 7, 2004 at 8:00 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre in the Main Auditorium. Actors and playwrights are invited to share their skills with the UMass Dartmouth community.

UMD students will write ten minute plays "overnight" on Thursday and submit them Friday night. The scripts will be judged and the top six scripts will be produced for an audience Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. A $100 prize will be awarded to the top script. Any UMass Dartmouth student interested in submitting a script should attend the orientation at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 5 in the Main Auditorium, where they learn the rules and the festival’s "theme."

Acting roles are open to the community, although participants must be students to submit a play. A short orientation for prospective actors will be held on February 5 at 7:30 P.M. in the Main Auditorium. At noon on Saturday, directors, cast and crew will begin to mount the production and rehearse, and then at 8 P.M. the festival will open to the public.

Judges will be selected from university faculty, staff, and community.
