Congressman William Keating and Bristol County District Attorney Sam Sutter will meet face-to-face for the only televised debate in the Ninth Congressional District Democratic primary on Thursday at UMass Dartmouth's Main Auditorium.
The debate has been organized by the SouthCoast Alliance, a consortium of media, education and non-profit organizations, and members of the public are invited to attend.
"The August 30 debate is a critical opportunity for SouthCoast residents to question the candidates," said Craig Dutra, chairman of the SouthCoast Alliance.
The debate comes just days before the Democratic primary election on Tuesday, September 6.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. There are no tickets, and seats will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. The debate will run from7 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
