UMass Dartmouth Welcomes New Vice Chancellor of Advancement Lee Williams

Lee Williams Brings Proven Track Record of Leadership and Success to UMass Dartmouth

Dartmouth, MA (December 12, 2013) -- UMass Dartmouth welcomed Lee Williams this week as its new Vice Chancellor for Advancement. Lee Williams has 21 years of fundraising and leadership experience, most recently as Associate Vice President for Constituent Development at the University of South Florida (USF). At USF, she led a team of 22 fundraisers and 8 support staff at the ninth-largest public research institution in the U.S.

"We are thrilled to welcome Lee to New England and our UMass Dartmouth community," said UMass Dartmouth Chancellor Divina Grossman. "Lee brings a proven track record of leadership and success to our Advancement Office. We look forward to the wonderful impact she will have on our university."

Lee's team at USF played a central role in the university's $600 million Unstoppable campaign, and she has led the development of a division-wide prospect management and cultivation system. A major focus in this position was working with academic deans to ensure their colleges are on track to meet annual fundraising goals.

"In just a short amount of time, I have already felt welcomed and embraced by Chancellor Grossman, students, faculty, and staff here at UMass Dartmouth," offered Lee. "I look forward to building upon the successes of UMass Dartmouth, creating new partnerships and strengthening established ones with alumni, the university community, and beyond."

Prior to joining USF, Lee held progressively higher development leadership positions at Mississippi State University, George Washington University, Georgetown University, and the Georgia Institute of Technology. Lee earned a B.S. in Secondary Education at Mississippi State University and a M.S. in Public Relations from the University of Southern Mississippi. She is a certified fund raising executive (CFRE) through the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
