The broadcast signal for WUMD (89.3 FM), UMass Dartmouth's radio station, has been restored to low power.
The 10,000 watt station was knocked off the air August 11 when severe thunderstorms hit the region and damaged the station's transmitter. Crews are continuing efforts to restore the station to full power.
The station can also be heard live around the globe at www.893wumd.org.
Meanwhile, the station will be off the air on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. due to a planned campus-wide electrical shutdown as the campus electrical system undergoes an upgrade.
