The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's College of Nursing has been named as one of the nation's top 100 colleges of nursing by US News & World Report.

UMass Dartmouth's College of Nursing is ranked number 79 in the country -- placing UMass Dartmouth's College of Nursing in the top 12% of all 670 colleges of nursing nationwide.

According to US News & World Report, nursing programs are ranked based solely on input from educators at peer nursing institutions, who were surveyed last year.

"What's best about this honor is that it comes from our peers at other nursing schools," said Dr. James Fain, dean of the College of Nursing. "This shows our colleagues see the quality of education we provide -- and know the quality of the nurses that graduate from UMass Dartmouth."

The UMass Dartmouth College of Nursing has been training some of the best nurses in the nation since 1969. The only school of nursing offered by a four-year university in southeastern Massachusetts, the College enrolls more than 650 students in its bachelor's, master's and PhD programs, as well as online and refresher courses for practicing nurses.
