Joan Nathan, the celebrated cook and author of ten cookbooks is guest speaker of an event sponsored by the UMass Dartmouth Boivin Center of French Language and Culture. Ms. Nathan will give a talk and demonstration entitled, "My Gastronomic French Journey," on November 19 at 7:45 at UMass Dartmouth 285 Old Westport Rd., Dining Commons, second floor.
Ms. Nathan received a master's degree in French literature, from The University of Michigan a master's degree in public administration from Harvard University. Ms. Nathan is a regular contributor to The New York Times, The Washington Post, Food Arts Magazine, Tablet Magazine, and has appeared as a guest on numerous radio and television programs including Today, Good Morning America, Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, The Martha Stewart Show and National Public Radio. Ms. Nathan is a recipient of the prestigious James Beard Award and the Julia Child Cookbook of the Year Award. Ms. Nathan worked for Mayor Teddy Kollek of Jerusalem while living in Israel for three years.
