"The induction of our future educators will be a historic day for the Department of Teaching and Learning and our entire UMass Dartmouth community," said UMass Dartmouth Chancellor Divina Grossman. "This chapter is the first of many that will foster growth, excellence, and opportunity for those on the path to teaching."
Dr. Sonia Nieto, Kappa Delta Pi Laureate Representative, Professor Emerita of Language, Literacy, and Culture in the School of Education at UMass Amherst will officiate this historic charter chapter and will give a lecture on her new book Finding Joy in Teaching Students of Diverse Backgrounds: Culturally Responsive and Socially Just Practices in U.S. Classrooms. Undergraduates must attain a 3.2 GPA and graduate students a 3.5 GPA for consideration into the honor society.
