Press Release: The UMass Dartmouth Boivin Center for French Language and Culture Presents "An Evening in Paris" with Charles Rearick Nov 4
Date: October 24, 2013
Department: College Of Arts And Sciences
Professor Charles Rearick is the author of several books on French history and culture including: New Perspectives in Modern Paris, French in Love and War, Pleasures of the Belle Époque, Beyond the Enlightenment and his most recent book published in 2011, Paris Dreams, Paris Memories, The City and Its Mystique. Professor Rearick is a frequent traveler to Paris.
Although Professor Rearick has visited Paris many times, there's always more that he discovers and enjoys--much of it beyond what the guidebooks feature. Professor Rearick will illustrate that point in his presentation November 4, drawing on his many explorations of the city over decades and his study of its history. While showing highlights of Paris today--improvements, new attractions, and projects underway--he will also offer insights into the past that has made Paris what it is in the present. A book signing will follow the presentation.
The event will take place in the Grand Room, room 122 in the Claire T. Carney Library at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth at 7 PM. The event is free and open to the public. Parking is available in Parking Lot 13.
