Silicone bracelets will be sold to raise funds for One Fund Boston. Sign up information will be available for the Ring Road Race for Champions, a 5K cross country style road race scheduled for April 13, 2014, to benefit Special Olympics of Massachusetts. UMass Dartmouth student athletes, part of a volunteer team to support UMass Dartmouth students and 2014 Boston Marathon participants Renee Laurencelle and Eric Karstunen, will also be in attendance. Rene and Eric are running to raise money for the Krystle Campbell Scholarship Fund.
In addition, UMass Dartmouth's Section of "Prayer Canvas: America 4 Boston" will be laid out and made available to attendees to add their own message of support and remembrance to the Boston Marathon bombing victims, survivors, and the city of Boston, for which the entire canvas honors.
UMass Dartmouth recently announced a series of events dedicated to civic engagement during the week leading up to the 118th running of the Boston Marathon.
