Press Release: Policy analysis director and economic development chief honored by NB Workforce Investment Board

Dr. Barrow was honored for aiding the WIB by providing research and technical assistance in the areas of economic development, public management, program evaluation and public opinion. "The data that he has provided has allowed the WIB to make informed decisions on policies that affect the development of the workforce in our region,'' according to a WIB citation. "Clyde has supplied us with an analysis of the economic, labor market, and labor force trends that help drive solutions to workforce issues. As a collaborator in workforce development, we honor Clyde and the Center for Policy Analysis with this special recognition."
Vigeant was honored for linking workforce development, economic development and education. "Paul is a visionary of how collaborations can be effective and supportive of shared missions,'' read the WIB citation. "Paul has provided the WIB with assistance in planning and facilitating WIB Strategy Sessions and supported us with insight on current economic and labor market information. Paul was also one of the primary drivers of an exciting innovation that the WIB will be undertaking in the coming years, the Regional Economic Transformation Model. This award honors Paul and the SouthCoast Development Partnership for their support in promoting and advancing the Workforce Development system."
The WIB sets policy for workforce development programs in the ten community region stretching from Dartmouth to Wareham. This business-led board includes members from private industry, economic development, community groups, education and labor. It also includes representation from agencies that deliver services at the Career Centers in New Bedford and Wareham.
