Student Student Research & Catalog Project
Step 1 - Select a team member.
Step 2- Craft Art History ---Students enrolled in the Craft Art History should
select an image from the appropriate PDF provided on the Student/ VRC Team Overview Page.
Step 2- Contempoary Art History ---Students enrolled in the Contemporary Art class need to
select an image from the appropriate PDF provided on the Student/ VRC Team Overview Page.
Step 3- A PowerPoint file (Craft Art History and Contemporary Art History will allow your team to view your object in color and obtain the Record ID, which is the filename minus the computer extension.
Step 4 - Review the Descriptive Metadata Guide (Data dictionary and instructions) located on the Student/ VRC Team Overview Page
Step 5- The Catalog Toolkit is essential to the project by and provides links to the lexicons/dictionaries you will need to complete the data.
Step 6 Before you begin entering data. Save the PDF form to your desktop or a portable thumb drive (highly recommended). IMPORTANT: The form does not save the data automatically therefore SAVE! SAVE! SAVE! Computers are machines and fail frequently, so...... as you go along.. I recommended that you print a hardcopy of your work to be safe.
Once you have saved your catalog form, then you may open it and begin to enter the information i.e. data directly in the PDF or WordFile catalog form
