The Massachusetts Workforce Training Fund workshop will provide area businesses with the latest information on how to access the Commonwealth’s grant program. The grants are intended to help qualifying companies with training costs so workers can remain productive and competitive, with up-to-date, leading edge skills. The local sponsoring agencies: Business and Industry Center of New Directions and Greater New Bedford Workforce Investment Board are looking to assist businesses with their individual or customized training needs and to organize consortiums of employers that may have similar or generic trainings needs.
The Workforce Training Fund, a program of the Massachusetts Division of Employment and Training, awards grants through its General Program up to a maximum of $250,000 and Express Program up to a maximum of $15,000. Since the first round of grants in March 1999, the fund has awarded $28,492,000 to provide a wide range of training for approximately 51,000 Massachusetts workers.
This no cost workshop is sponsored by: The Massachusetts Division of Employment & Training, Greater New Bedford Workforce Investment Board, Business & Industry Center of New Directions, Commonwealth Corporation, Massachusetts Office of Business Development and
Career Centers of Greater New Bedford and Wareham.
