Suku Sengupta and Collaborators Awarded $600,000 NSF Grant on Developing Ion Exchange Fibers

Dr. Suku Sengupta (Professor, Civil & Environmental Engineering Department), Dr. Robert E. Peck (Dean, College of Engineering), Dr. Steven B. Warner (Professor, Materials and Textiles), Dr. Prabir Patra (former MTX Research Associate and presently a Scientist at Rice University, Houston, TX) and Professor Arup K. SenGupta (Professor, Civil & Environmental Engineering Department, Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA) have been awarded a $600,000 grant ($306,153 for UMass Dartmouth) by the National Science Foundation's Partnerships for Innovation Program.  The three year grant begins on February 15, 2008.  The project title is, "Development of Fiber-based Technology for Creating New Opportunities in Economically-depressed Northeastern United States."
