Topic: "Real-Time Object Recognition Based on Motion Modeling and Segmentation"
In this talk, we will present object recognition based on motion modeling and cascaded classification of objects, using integral image and rectangular features for real-time applications. As integral image could be pre-computed in a fast and recursive manner and stored in memory, we can calculate the block sum of any pre-defined rectangular areas with just a small number of arithmetic operations and memory accesses. Its computational complexity is independent of block or window size. The wide applications and possibilities of integral image, at the only cost of additional buffers, onto block matching, motion estimation and compensation, and object recognition are presented in this talk with several examples.
Bichuan Shen is pursuing the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
