A grant to Materials & Textiles Department

The Materials and Textiles Department has received a grant to work with Konarka Technologies on making photovoltaic fabrics. One immediate goal is to make tents with a built-in solar power supply for the US Army. Konarka, based in Lowell, is a leading developer of flexible solar power.
