ECE graduate student David A. Hague received an internship position for the 2010 Office of Naval Research (ONR) Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program (NREIP). The program provides an opportunity for students to participate in research at a Department of Navy (DoN) laboratory for 10 weeks during the summer. NREIP provides competitive research internships at 12 DoN Laboratories to approximately 200 college students each year. NREIP participants receive a stipend and first-hand exposure to the research environment in DoN labs. David will be working in Code 1511 for Dr. Holly Johnson at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, Rhode Island during the summer of 2010.
David graduated from UMASS Dartmouth in 2005 with a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. Since the end of 2006, David worked for Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems located in Tewksbury, MA as a signal processing software developer for a variety of Radar systems. He is also an Army veteran with tours of duty in Afghanistan in 2002 and Kosovo in 2006. He returned to UMASS in Fall 2009 as a research assistant working for Prof. John R. Buck in the Acoustic Signal Processing lab studying bioacoustic models for active sonar receiver design.
