College of Engineering CS and CE students succeed in IEEE Robotic Competition
Computer Science students Matthew Donoughe and Kevin Cormier and Computer Engineering student Julian Plante and Nick Savery, under the guidance of faculty advisor Dr. Ramprasad Bala, Computer and Information Science Department (CIS), participated in the 2008 IEEE International Conference on Technologies for Practical Robot Applications (TePRA) Robotic Competition.
The competition sponsored by iRobot was held in Woburn, MA on Nov 11, 2008. The Computer Science team finished second and the Computer Engineering team finished fourth in the double-elimination head-to-head competition. They beat out teams from WPI and iRobot in their very first competition.
