Description: Visual Resource Collection is looking for graduate and undergraduate students to assist with the transformation of slide collections to digital. OBJECTIVES: Students will become familiar with the methodology, procedures and practices of digital repositories outlined and advocated by the Visual Resource Association and other professional organizations. Students will participate in all aspects of the Visual Resource Center and will utilize their academic skills to conduct research, to development descriptive metadata records, and to produce digital content. DESCRIPTION OF EXPERIENCE: Duties will include but not limited to: 1.Perform research related to cataloging based on national standards 2. Learn basic technical and descriptive metadata standards as it relates to digital imagery. 3.Hands on experience with digital image production 4.Assist with daily operations of a VRC including digital production, reference and maintenance of a digital collection 5.Experience with arts and humanities research of primary and secondary sources
