Cornus florida 'Alba'
White flowering dogwood
A slow-growing shrub or small tree, grows to 15-25' and spreads 12-18'. A deciduous tree with green ovate leaves with a red fall color. Leaves are 2 to 4" in length. Flowers are yellow and are similar to Forsythia, flowers in early spring. White fruit follows the yellow flowers which is edible. The tree responds to pruning and may be used as a hedge plant, but otherwise is a relatively pest-free specimen tree. Hardy in zones 5-8a.
