Japanese Cornelian Dogwood
A deciduous, ornamental tree that is a welcome addition to any landscape. This dogwood has a moderate growth rate and eventually reaches 20' tall with a 15' spread. This multi-stemmed tree produces clusters of yellow flowers with drooping bracts in early spring, which give rise to shiny red fruit clusters in the fall. Exfoliating bark and purple fall foliage round out this spectacular specimen. This dogwood is hearty from zones 5-8. See specimens by Admissions and Student Services.
