Family: Ericaceae

A low spreading shrub 8-10 in. high and 22 in. across. Linear, dark green leaves. Bears one-sided recemes, 3 in. long. Narrowly urn-shape, purple-pink flowers 1/4-3/8 in. long, in late summer and early spring. Tolerates mildly alkaline soil and some shade. Grow in well drained soil. Prune in early summer. Use in rock garden or companion to larger shrubs. Hardy in zones 7-8.
