Juniperus squamata 'Blue Star'
'Blue Star' juniper
Family: Cupressaceae

Blue Star juniper is native to western and central Asia, but was brought to cultivation in Holland. It grows slowly into a dense compact mound that spreads as a ground cover with a 3'-4' spread and 2'-3' height. 'Blue Star' juniper has bright slivery-blue foliage that is sharply textured. It requires full to part sun for compact growth. Hardy in zones 5-8. Blue Star juniper can be found near the entrance to Cedar Dell Village, and in the Bus Stop Planter of the Centennial Garden.
