Magnolia 'Merrill'

Family: Magnoliaceae

This is a free flowering tree that will grow in zone 3. It grows faster than most magnolias. It is a pyramidal, multi-stemmed shrub. This tree can reach a height of 25" and a spread of 30". In the spring, around April, fragrant, white, 3 inch in diameter star-like flowers grow. This trees foliage color is green and its fall color is golden-bronze. These shrubs are found on campus in the south and north end of both the entrance gardens in area 1b.
