Campus Gardens

Pinus mugo 'Pumilla'
Dwarf Mugo Pine
Evergreen

This type of evergreen shrub is a slow, low growing, spreading pine. Dark green in color, its needles are found in pairs and are about 2-3" in length. Its color is year-round because it is a type of conifer. The dwarf mugo pine prefers full sun exposure and inhabits ordinary soil with good drainage. This evergreen can be typically found in landscaping because of its controllable size. It's height ranges from 3-5' tall while its spread is anywhere from 6-10' wide. Location on campus: athletic center, admissions building, alpine garden. Hardiness zones: 3-7
