Prunus x subhirtella 'Pendula'
Native of Japan, this pink flowered cherry grows 30-40' in diameter and an equal height. Its downward hanging, wispy branches dance gracefully in the wind. Unpruned, branches drag along the ground. Ideal tree to break up a dull space. One specimen on campus is in the lawn behind Group VI given in memory of, Ayuko Ito of Japan a deceased alumna design student. Zones 6-8
