Swamp azalea, Sweet azalea
Family: Ericaceae

A deciduous azalea grows dwarfed to medium in size, approximately 2-8ft tall with a spread of 3-8ft wide with hairy shoots. Leaves grow alternate in pattern _ to 1 inch long and dark green in color. In the fall leaves are deep burgundy in color. Flowers bloom in early July with sticky white flowers and are fragrant. Swamp or Sweet azalea grows best in full to partial sun and in damp soil and in age forms a thicket. Zones: 4-8
