D. Steven White
Professor of Marketing and International Business

Dr. D. Steven White has been at UMass-Dartmouth since 1998. His degrees are from Cleveland State University (DBA, 1996; MBA, 1991) and Bowling Green State University (MA, 1987; BSBA, 1985).
His research interests include seafood marketing, international services marketing, service exporting, global entrepreneurship, international marketing, global e-commerce and international business education. He has co-authored 38 articles published in refereed journals and 20 refereed proceedings. In addition, he has been awarded the Charlton College of Business Higginson Award for Excellence in Teaching three times in the past six years.
Professor White teaches marketing principles and international marketing at the undergraduate level and international marketing and international business at the MBA level. He has experience teaching in MBA programs in Singapore and Malaysia. Since 2000, he has been a faculty advisor for the UMass-Dartmouth International Business Association.
Prior to entering academia, Professor White was the vice president of an advertising agency, managed outdoor sporting goods stores/ski shops and served as an alpine ski instructor. He is an active business consultant, most recently working with a software firm to develop marketing plan software and internet marketing plan software.
Currently, Professor White is studying Portuguese to better serve the region's international business community.
