The Commuter Café is busy during the first week of the spring semester.	Provost Louis Esposito greets retired faculty at the Retirees Luncheon on February 1st.	Professor David Rock at the Retirees Luncheon on February 1st.	February 1st was Ice Cream Day sponsered by CAB (Campus Activities Board).
Dr. Norman Barber created “Reflections in Black: An Illustrative Journey though the Afrocentric Experience”, which was shown at the Woodland Commons during the month of February.	Students enjoy a game of hackey sack in one of the Group VI lounges.	The Fourth Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast and Drum Major Awards took place on February 3rd, at the Woodland Commons Center.	Tom Lyons, President of Bank Five and co-chair of UMD’s Center for Marketing Research, presents an appreciation award to Senator Joan Menard for her support of the local business community.
Fernando Garcia, President of Fall River Ford and co-chair of UMD’s Center for Marketing Research, presents an appreciation award to Senator Mark Montigny for his support of the local business community.	Prof. James Griffith of Med Lab Science presented a brown bag lunch on virology and the potential impact of the H5N1 flu.	At the Feb 8th Brown Bag lunch presentation, Prof Lew Dars stressed the economic effects of the potential impact of the H5N1 flu.	Student Affairs and Sodexo hosted a Medeival Banquet dinner for students on February 9th.
The Main Auditorium has newly installed sound panels that improve sound quality.	College Now held their annual Share the Dream banquet, celebrating the success of College Now Freshmen.	The UMass Board of Trustees met at UMD’s Woodland Commons on February 15th.	CATLS (Consortium for the Advancement of Teaching, Learning and Scholarship) sponsored a panel discussion on February 15th, 2006.
Professor Robert Waxler discussed his new book, “Finding a Voice”, at a luncheon sponsored by UMD Hillel.	UMass Amherst Professor, Dr. William Strickland, presented during the panel discussion, “The Civil Rights Movement Lesson”, held at the Library Browsing Area on February 16th.	Prof. Mark Santow participated in the panel discussion, ““The Civil Rights Movement Lesson”.	Student Affairs, CAB, Sigma Phi Rho, and the Unity House sponsored The Black History Month Ball at Woodland Commons.

The Women’s Resource Center sponsored the performance of Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues” on February 22nd and 23rd.	Professor Nora Barnes speaks to local business owners at a customer service seminar sponsored by UMDs’ Center for Marketing Research.	Chancellor MacCormack viewed the "Journey Through Time" display, honoring the contributions of African Americans, an exhibit at the auditorium gallery and created by Marjorie Fernandes and students from the Office of Student Life.
Dr. Singh and his research group gathered near the construction site of the new Research Facility, being constructed near the Textile and Violette buildings.	Excavation for the new Research Facility began in February.	The Phonathon Group works for the UMass Dartmouth Foundation.	The Center for Indic Studies sponsored a presentation by Dr. Jerry Solfvin at the library browsing area on February 24th.
The Center for Policy Analysis and Policy Studies Dept. sponsored the presentation, “The Failures of American Foreign Policy and the War on Terrorism” featuring Dr. Robert Ostergard.
